A New Direction
Charged with creating an addition to a museum designed by Le Corbusier, this project has become a question of intervention; weighing the needs of the museum against the architectural value of the existing building was the inherent challenge. As required by the program the addition is of masonry construction. Balancing the new requirements of the museum with many of the fine qualities of the original building while working with the qualities of brick as a building material resulted in this design solution.
